Gorący Patrol

Activities for the homeless are performed under the name “Gorący Patrol” and they are being realized by professionals and volunteers. They include ad hoc support, intervention, and protection as well as long-term preventive support.

Forms of support

A support point for the homeless in Lublin on 1 Maja 20

From November to April, the point is open 7 days a week from 18:30 to 20:30. In other months, twice a week, on Wednesdays and Sundays, between 18:30 and 20:30. At this time, hot meals, warm clothes, duvets, and dressings are distributed. Needy people can also get pre-medical support and the opportunity to talk to volunteers. Almost 70 homeless and extremely poor people use this form of support every day.

Mobilny Gorący Patrol

An initiative consisting of visiting non-residential places where homeless people stay. The point is to diagnose whether or not they require professional help and inform them about possible institutional and non-institutional forms of support. Volunteers also distribute hot meals, tea, and warm clothes. Visits are combined with a diagnosis of the residents’ situation and the provision of the necessary things (fuel, gas cylinder, blankets, duvets, food). The visits are also intended to keep people living in extreme poverty in touch and raise their spirits.

Re-adaptation homes for people emerging from homelessness

People who have attempted to change their living situation have the opportunity to stay at home for an average of 3 months. During these months, they organize their matters, participate in therapies, meetings with a coach, psychologist, and complete their professional qualifications. They can also start working. During the stay, the residents also learn to function in the community, reacquaint themselves with the need to take care of neatness in the place of residence, respecting quiet hours, etc.

Przedsiębiorstwo Społeczne PS Centrum

It allows them to strengthen their self-esteem and dignity, as well as earn their livelihood and become familiar with the work culture.

Dispensary and bathhouse for homeless

Any person who reports to the contact point at 1 Maja 20 Street, may benefit from opportunities to wash, treat wounds and change clothes. A doctor and a nurse are on duty in the dispensary. This support is especially important for people who do not have insurance and are not able to use free medical assistance. In justified cases, we provide medicines for our residents.
